Do not fill gaps with guesses
Use “around evening” for an uncertain time and mark remembered wording as a summary. Keep original files as well as any cropped or annotated copy.

If a date becomes clearer later
Do not replace the first entry with a cleaner version. Keep the original uncertainty, then add when and how you confirmed the date and what you changed. This preserves the difference between an immediate memory and later information.
