A guide to organizing thoughts and events in a private Diary

Use a Diary to support memory and reflection without turning a record into “proof” or a conclusion.

What a Diary is for

A Diary can help you remember what you saw or heard and how you felt at the time. It does not determine what another person meant, whether conduct was unlawful, or what outcome is appropriate.

A sustainable record

  • Add the date and time as accurately as you can
  • Separate observable events from feelings and assumptions
  • Write “unknown” instead of filling gaps later
  • Do not sacrifice safety or sleep to keep recording

What you can read here

These guides cover relationship records, timelines, privacy, and the limits of treating a Diary as evidence. It is fine to stop after the record helps you organize your own thoughts.
